Just “a long essay on Misandry. The tone of the author is often borders on hysteria. The real solutions are not really available (unless you consider drastic measures that are not far from abuse, to my opinion). This is not a book for a parent who seeks to avoid these tragedies for their daughter in the distant future (like myself). Do not provide measured, sober, the long-term prevention is build self-esteem in your daughter to prevent this from happening. On the contrary, seems to be written for the parent who is at the center of this drama, he considers his daughter to be mentally incompetent, and has no problem to say that this girl — loud and clear (as it is supposed to increase self-esteem is beyond me). And ‘the book from a parent, frantic, who is ready to enter a jaw of ass, and thousands of slaughtered to protect their daughter. I’m sure I would have reacted the same way in this situation… but I am not now in this situation, while the book was not writtenf or me really. Rating: 3 / 5
What a wonderful book – it is so easy to fall into an abusive relationship. We need all the help it can to protect our daughters. Not only do we need to protect girls in abusive relationships, we also need to show and teach them to love. In the creation of extraordinary joy, Chris Alexander, shows us how to love themselves and others. – Thanks, Chris and Jim. Rating: 5 / 5
As a counselor of domestic violence and human behavior, so often I heard the words: “If only I’d done (or did not )…. He never touched, “or” He pushed me, but he loves me and he promised he would never do it again. “Violence is not love, it controls, and without intensive therapy for emotional problems that cause the perpetrator (often the author himself was a victim of abuse), the problem will not better, will not go away – it will in all likelihood, increase at a higher level over time. The book points to many signs, and discusses the various types of violence: physical, verbal , emotional and sexual. The author also speaks of the healing process for those who have been abused. When you stop to think about the issue that one in three girls will be in a realtionship control, manipulation and abuse of some nature before they graduate from high school, only to both parents and adolescents to watch the girls. The consequences of long term abuse is devastating and terrible beyond words, the emotional scars remain long after physical injuries disappear. Very often, these scars never disappear and affect our own image, our families and our future relationship. We’ve all heard that “love is blind, but there is much truth l assertion that “there is none so blind who will not see.” Denial is not always a wonderful thing. True love never hurts physically, but emotionally food, care and protection. As the reader learns through the pages of this book, there are several kinds of love, but there is a huge difference between infatuation and true love, lasting love engaging. Teenagers, even if we believe when they are madly in love, often in love with the idea of being in love. They are young, have not yet had the opportunity or experience to distinguish difference between first love and overactive hormones, and mature and lasting love. The author uses concrete examples to drive home the point, are true stories that happen in one part of the country, every minute every hour of every day. If this book helps just one woman (and no longer need to have several), then the author not only averted a tragedy, but perhaps saved a life . This is highly recommended reading and the value of a universe of stars “Hats off to Jill Murray for telling it like it is. Rating: 5 / 5
Although the book does a good job in describing a relationship of adolescent violence, gives virtually no adivce parents, except those who are in abusive relationships themselves. I thought this book would be useful ideas on how to handle the situation when it comes to your family, but does that insult the mother at the end. Rating: 1 / 5
I bought this book for me just to keep informed on the issues of adolescents. My daughter, then 13, saw the book and began to devour and analyze reports. He made immediate changes in a friendship and decided he should not tolerate being affected more or less. Today, a year later, is to buy the book for a friend who takes control of behavior by her boyfriend. Rating: 5 / 5
